A tiny village called Herston sits way off the main road next to the sea on South Ronaldsay. There is an old house there that is completely covered in ivy and is quite amazing. This is one of the windows
What a great place! Love how I can see ivy INSIDE the window. Another beautiful shot from you, I love the green tones, especially the mossy window frame.
@corgimom Thank you Debbie! @amyspada Thanks Amy - I love windows as well - the older the better @chezza Thank you! It was creeping all over the place @gailmmeek Thank you Gail - I was happy to find it - people around here start telling you about places to go and this was recommended, so pleased about that @crankstyle Thank you!
@aprilmilani Thank you April, it's a different house altogether - there's loads of old places going to ruin. They're very expensive to restore and tend to be very small, it's such a shame but then I wouldn't have got this
@gailmmeek Gail - it's probably more that I can bore them rigid talking about photography, It might be to get rid of me!! It's a lovely community though!
@cromwell Thank you!! are you partial to a window yourself? @sheilag I 'd love to photograph that place too but as I pass it 4 times a day I always think another time! @chewyteeth Thank you Dave :) @ouimo Thank you ! @jacjacs68 Thank you Jackie ! @steampowered Thank you Paul, I'm glad to see I'm not alone! @masosy Thank you Kate, it was a mess inside - I peeped! I'm too nosy , I couldn't help myself :) @rikshore Thank you Rik:) @margiec Thanyk you Margie :) @annethomson Thank you Anne, I'll have to post a full shot of the house - it's incredible :)
Wow what a window Ingrid - love how the ivy frames the shot and the light coming in from the background window is beautifully captured - enchanting : )
Very beautiful, love the light from the back window. Do you develop the film yourself? I did a roll of film recently but found the it rather expensive to get it developed. Norway gone digital so no inexpensive 1 hour photo places left, only specialized stores.
@primitiveprobe Thank you- I haven't tried colour at home yet but I have bought a C41 kit and it's sitting there waiting! We have a chemist here that develops and prints for about £8 so it's not too expensive yet!
A definite fav for me !!!
@spankyjane Thank you Mel, I'm going to go back and take some photos from inside once I find out who the owners are!
