neg2 diana painting

Plucked up the courage to ask someone if I could take their photo, critique very much welcomed as I'm not happy with this but so sick of textures and old houses. Now I have to go to school bingo !

I like the painting in the foreground. I am so gonna ask a stranger if I can photograph them now!

Looks like a cold day to be hanging around painting. I like the colours here - sort of retro.

@jayholm64 I do know her so it wasn't too nerve wracking - it's such a small community the only strangers are visitors ! I quite fancy getting to a city soon - go for it!
@jessfresh78 Thank you Jess :)
@sheilag @elsbels @jacjacs68 @shweetheart @roadshow

I like it as is but I would have also taken a shot where the painting and person are sharp but the background is blurred.

Love the bright colours

@szyduck I think you're right Steve, I know something isn't right about this - also the painting is too bright - just felt like I was intruding a bit so didn't want to overdo it

I really like your pov, since the person is your main subject they should be sharper. Also, I do like the colors in the composition.

@3whiteroses thank you Angela, I think that is exactly what's wrong! Nobody seems to want to say!!! So thank you , I also maybe should have had her in profile- big learning curve doing people . When it's a building you can spend as long as you want walking around but with A person it would have been a bit creepy ! :)

This is a wonderful shot Ingrid. I have never been able to ask someone if I could take their picture, that alone is huge in my books! I love the colours and atmosphere your film shots have. I like that the painting is bright, just needs a little sharper focus.

I do that constantly, and I have had some very interesting conversations. People fascinate me and I am shameless :) I love this, the colours and the composition are very well balanced.

@masosy I think you're spot on - it does need a different focus, really pleased you said that - Thank you!

It's really vibrant! Well done for asking someone, that's something I haven't plucked up the courage to do just yet.
