van dyke window by ingrid2101

van dyke window

Last of the experimental van dyke prints- have to try more negative making using inkjet. Image taken with iphone, transferred to computer then inverted in PS and printed on inkjet film. Coated Fabriano paper with silver nitrate/ ferric ammonium citrate solution. Placed negative on paper and exposed in UV light unit for 30 mins. Washed for ages then fixed in hypo and final wash of 30 minutes
Magnifique!

Marvelous tones

So let me get this right. You took a digital photograph, printed it as a negative, processed the negative, and then scanned or otherwise got the results back into the computer to upload? And peope say I spend too much time with my camera! I'd love to see the original, untouched image as well.

Love the feel of this.

@ingrid2101 I'm gonna have to look up van dyke because I don't know what it is. These look really good though. Bronze colored, and remind me a bit of tintype.
