apologies for 3 uploads in a short space. today is today so harmony is restored....ish. I've stopped smoking - day 6. I had no choice as I lit a cigarette last tues and thought i would explode coughing, when I got up on thursday I realised the worst 2 days of stopping were done so would be crazy to carry on. i'm finding it easy as well. here's another of the piano in the cottage, will go back again sometime as I love it and I think the colours will change in different seasons.

Gorgeous tones! Sounds interesting to see this in different seasons, good idea! I gave up 2 years ago for 9 months! Thought I had cracked it so thought I could just have odd ones when I had a drink, noooo way!!, did it again 3 months ago (fingers crossed) keep it up but it can get harder after a while but just think, the more you have the harder it gets! Well done you :-)
@jacjacs68 3 months is brilliant Jackie, I've stopped a couple of times before as well and did the stupid one ortwo now and again. I know from age and experience that if I start again then that's me and I'd hate to go through all this crap again. I'm thinking after 3 months thats a photo course I'd love to go on paid for !
Wow, what an amazing scene -- such rich textures and tones. Would love to see more. Best wishes for your smoke-free future -- sounds like the worst is now behind you!
Great work as always, I really love these shots and you always seam to be able to bring something more into them, the atmosphere, the glimps of what once was...simply wonderful piece again!
Good luck with the smoking, that is the next vice I want to lose. You know these cottage shots, I would love to see some late, long exposures. I can only see darkness as adding to the atmosphere of the abandoned lives.
The things that are left in these cottages are extraordinary - they remind me of gold rush towns where people just upped sticks and left. Good luck with the quitting - it took me several attempts and I know how tough it can be at times (haven't had one for 15 years now)
Love this, the composition, the textures, the feeling of abandonment, the tones... well fav will explain it! Congratulations on giving up smoking, you can now spend all the extra money on film and equipment :-)
Fabulous shot. That piano has seen better days. Here's a Fav for your hard work in getting this shot sorted out and for giving up smoking. It's hard but not insurmountable. I kicked a thirty a day habit into touch by using "won't power"... I won't have a cigarette until my birthday...Christmas...our anniversary... and each time I got to that breakpoint I put it off until the next occasion. Here I am seventeen years down the line and tobacco free! So... more power to you for doing this, Ingrid!
And congrats on quitting. I keep thinking about it, but "now is never the time." ;-) Keep it up.
