yesnaby at sunset

a stunning day - spent too much time pissing about, realised I wasn't going to be able to get far as the light would be gone. I walked up into the hills at Yesnaby, after an hour I realised I had to get back to the car and if I didn't hurry then I'd be on cliffs in the dark. That's never good. I did stop though and quickly set up the tripod to take a photo of the stack. This is the one the guy climbed in the bbc series about Orkney and it's archaeology . I did use an ND filter but forgot my cable release so the first one is a bit wobbly.

I was there in the Orkneys in late July 1997. It's 20 years, now, and I still remember them. Your photos make me longing for returning!
