Spreading its wings

Day two of 30 days wild

I went to the park today to see if I could find any wildlife. There's a large wooded area which has been left to grow naturally, it's always a good place to start. Today I spotted a couple of Speckled Wood butterflies landing and taking off again in the nettles. This one landed and closed its wings but when I got nearer and cast a shadow it started to open them again. As soon as I moved to give the butterfly full sun it closed its wings again.

I think I enjoyed this game more than the butterfly, it flew off to another perch where there was no annoying shadow.
well done
