Manchester's water by inthecloud5

Manchester's water

A wet and gloomy day in the Lake District but we had an interesting walk on this forest path alongside Thirlmere.

This is the reservoir that supplies the city of Manchester with water, I'm sure everyone who lives there will be glad it rained so much today.

There's an 96-mile aqueduct that takes the water (no pumps, just gravity) at 4 miles per hour, so today's rain should be there sometime tomorrow.
Beautiful shot that draws the eye through the image...wonderful composition

Very atmospheric. Every time I went to the Lake District when I was a child the weather was just like this, regardless of the season.
