Prevailing wind

No need to comment, just found some odd days from last year that need filling.

In the Isle of Man there are a few trees on one of the roads leading to the hills, an exposed place constantly blown by westerly winds. They've been there as long as I can remember and don't seem to be adversely effected by the conditions.

On the left there's a cyclist pushing hard to get to the top. These hilly roads on the island are where cyclist Mark Cavendish started out, I think his training here enabled him to cycle up any hill in the world!
Wonderful how these trees have adapted to the westerly winds. Lovely photo. I wouldn't have noticed the cyclist if you hadn't mentioned him !
