We went for a stroll around the RSPB reserve this afternoon, it's a great place to spend a couple of hours.
There was a crowd watching nuthatches, tree creepers and other little birds flitting about looking for food, I overheard someone say that this was just a blue tit. I thought it was worth a bit more attention and it turned out to be my favourite photo of the day.
I'm not sure about this edit, I'm using a different laptop so I've been trying to work out if it's set up right. Do let me know if you think it looks weird!
Hi Christine, you asked for comments about this weekends shots. If I may say I think both this and your rainbow appear a bit darker than I would imagine them to be. Having said that, I do know that it is quite difficult to get the colour right on these Blue Tits when you are shooting up against a bright leaf canopy. I also feel this is not quite as sharp as your images are normally, but thats not the laptop. But you are right to question the laptop, some come out of the box spot on, others seem to need adjustments. If you know anyone who can lend you a ColorMunki ( a bit expensive to buy, but good), that will check the settings for you.
@markp thanks for the feedback Mark, I appreciate it. An interesting experiment but I think you're right, the laptop display isn't set up correctly. Everything looked ok on the screen but I was using a different lens as well so it was hard to tell. I've been looking for a good 'all-in-one' lens, however I'm pretty sure this isn't it!
