Brief Encounter by inthecloud5

Brief Encounter

Carnforth railway station was the location for all those atmospheric scenes in David Lean's film Brief Encounter.

Not much atmosphere today, I didn't really like any of the shots I took, the light was poor. Anyway I decided to process this in b&w to give it a vintage (ish) look.

The clock has been here since 1880, during the filming of Brief Encounter it was covered with a cloth which had moveable hands stuck on to it so the time could be set as needed. I like the heart shaped hour hand, it gives the simple design a bit of a quirky look.

I've not had much time on here this week so I really appreciate your comments on my recent images.
Fantastic shot. Brief Encounter is one of my favourite movies of all time. fav

Superb shot with great composition, great lines and it has a gritty look with all of the stonework
