Sea, sand and sanderlings

Long walk along the beautiful Northumbrian beaches today, the weather was perfectly lovely again. Lots of photo opportunities but I think most of them look better in colour, I hate to turn blue skies to grey!

I eventually decided on this one of the sanderlings on the edge of the water for my flash of red entry for today. They're such funny little birds, they run around whenever a wave comes anywhere near them but don't seem in the least bit bothered by humans and their cameras.
Good choice for a shot - do like the tower in the background! fav

Lovely 'letterbox' image. I'm coming over to the east coast next week with my caravan. It may be a bit cold for enjoying the beach according to the forecasters.

The stripes in the sand and that line of white froth make this a standout.

Love the different textures in the sea and the sand, with that frothy edge separating them.

This looks great, nice POV and I like the lines, though like you, I would have liked it more in colour!
