Went to the park "for an hour" this afternoon and met a lady who said she was looking for the kingfisher. We chatted for a couple of minutes and suddenly we saw a flash of blue and there it was! It was so hard to see in the middle of the tree even though it had found a sunny spot. Eventually found a place to stand where there was a decent enough view, not a great photo but such a thrill to come home with a few shots (3 hours later - where did that go?)
I am envious! Think I spotted one flying by down by the creek last week - but that's exactly what he did - fly! I love the light hitting him in the tree here. That must have been fun!
Well done ...you used your head to get yourself in the best position. That's what I like best about photography... responding quickly to whatever comes up. Fav
wow, well done despite the noise. I love this as it's so natural with it being amongst the leaves. I've only managed to get decent shots of Kingfishers from a hide.
