I just found this not-so-little guy drying his wings off on the apple tree.

Quite how it got half way up the tree in my garden, though, I don't know.

if I recall correctly, this species will venture quite far away from water... I've seen one in my local town and I saw fly high up a tree at Jodrell Bank the other day!

wow, that is so cool. Dragonflies have been everywhere this summer and are so cool.
