At last, a sunny day! Not having any idea what I wanted to photograph today, other than some blue sky, I decided to head off towards Bembridge. Bembridge is only about 4 miles from me, and I hoped I would find plenty of photo opportunities.
As I was travelling over, I noticed the windmill in the distance and decided to try and get to it (having never ventured there before). My luck was in as the layby near to it was empty and other than having to negotiate some enormous puddles and a couple of random sheep I managed to get there. The windmill, which was built in around 1700, is owned by the National Trust and luckily for me is closed at this time of the year so I didn't have to nudge my way through a gaggle of tourists for a shot. Unfortunately this also meant that I couldn't find my way round to get a shot from the front of it, but I am quite pleased with how the picture has turned out despite taking it from the side. I like the shadow of the sail across the building and obviously the lovely blue sky.
Although I'm pleased with this picture, I did have a hard struggle choosing between this and another which I took at Bembridge beach ... looks like a return trip for another day!
Beautiful!! The textures of this is great and from a side view may I add. I love the shadow, lush green grass and that amazing blue sky. Just finishes up a lovely photo. :-)
@jennlouise thanks Jennie thats very kind of you to say so (although I constantly doubt that theyre any good!). I live on the Isle of Wight, lucky to have such lovely scenery here.
