The Rockox House, Antwerp, courtyard

This is a photo used in my AV of the St Borromeo church and the Rockox House in Antwerp. Here is the link to the AV: https://vimeo.com/336164018 Please look if you have time.

The Rockox House, now a museum, has an inner garden with fine herbs, and has features of an Italian pallazo. This house has long been one of our favourite places in this fine city.

The house was rebuilt for Nicolaas II Rockox, lord Mayor of Antwerpen. He had different houses united in 1603, and restored in Renaissance style. It was his principal residence, which he used for business and it was built in baroque style. The house is a typical example of the architecture that was popular with the bourgeoisie of the early 17th century in Antwerp. (from Wiki) [Also on FaceBook]
