The Hurdy Gurdy Man by jack4john

The Hurdy Gurdy Man

This gentleman is a Scottish busker living in Galway. He says his instrument a combination of strings and a handle you wind is Hurdy Gurdy.
For the record he was playing My Bonnie while I took his picture...
Great capture! Love his period style

My hubby made a hurdy gurdy (see Feb 8th for pic). I do find them a remarkably strange instrument - the sound they make is somewhat of an acquired taste! :))

Very colourful--both the photo and the character! Almost medieval--what you might expect from a Scot....

reminds me of the Donovan song, but here is how the hurdy gurdy sounds ~ I was curious:

You certainly have some colourful characters in Galway. I see the clogs, did he do clog dancing as well ?

@joysfocus @photographycrazy @pamdavis2015 @mothermalarky @golder365mjsmith @sitiodown @laroque @pitasmum thank you all .I didn't see him wear the Clogs Tim. But the little puppets were operated by the wire attached to his Knee..
