At first glance, I thought I was seeing one of Colorado's Mesa's! No castle sits like this is Colorado (USA) however!!! This is truly a remarkable image! I don't recall if I've asked before, but what software program are you using to get your delicate HDR effect, and how many images are you compressing? I hope you don't mind me asking, but much of what I accomplish seems so heavy-handed by comparison. I really love your work! (And it doesn't hurt to have scenery like this either!)
@jack4john That does explain what you did, then, John...thank you for being generous in your explanation. While I don't use a cell phone, I find it fascinating that you transfered a camera image to the cell phone when I would have guessed everyone might have done it the other way around! Again, your images are both beautiful and beautifully executed! Thanks again for sharing!
Ok, I've been thinking about this shot for days now and I really like the composition and what (and how) it is showing off, but really can't tell myself I am OK with processing. In my eyes, the HDR look really makes it flatter than it could have been. There are some wonderful surfaces and textures there, and so many layers - my eyes do want those shadows in the cracks of rocks, and do want the grass being "normal" shade of green. It is an awesome setting, and I think in this processing it is losing some of its richness and mystery. :) Just an opinion.
