That's what it's called , what do we know about it , emmm..nothing. at its highest point it is 12 foot and is double walled on the inside with a rampart wall of about 7 foot. It sits on top of Black Head overlooking the Atlantic. It was probably for defense of the area, but as no account of any sort has been left to us.we can let our minds wander to all sorts of imagining ..
Cool! It's too bad we don't have any better historical information, but I would love to be there imagining. Maybe we'd come up with something more interesting than what actually was.
I think it's more likely to have been a very early attempt at a landscaped garden and BBQ area than anything defensive, unless you count that moment when the neighbours knock on the door expecting to be invited to join in with the BBQ and you all have to hide behind the patio furniture until they're gone. I think Laurence Llewelyn Bowen would love it, for the view if nothing else. Oh, excellent processing as always.
Trying to imagine it full of ginger-haired warriors dressend in sheepskins and waving their spears at me. What were they defending? A great view? Must have been ancient photographers. Love the sky.
