ANother bucket list photo, I've seen it done a few times on here so it's nothing new. But I did feel slightly scared laying down (in long, wettish grass), with my camera pointing skywards to get this shot! Three photos and I scrambled to my feet for a hasty getaway before I either got electrocuted, arrested or fined by Eastern Electricity for trespassing!!!
Another b & w conversion by Nik Silver Efex... love it!
Oh no............did you take out insurance you mad woman!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Amazing, you must have been soaked, thats just so good, corner to corner perfect. fav for madness and result!!
Well Jackie, I did one like this way back when, but I love the huge contrast you've achieved. Tell me, is the black of the pylons and wires achieved in Efex Pro? I have been debating whether to get it with myself, and your answer may just sway me one way or t'other! Another fav m'dear
Wow! This so coooool! I've never even thought of getting underneath pylons for a shot like this (I didn't even know the view looked like this) Creative and awesome shot! FAV!
@tryeveryday - thanks! This just sort if happened today while I was planning to get some sunset photos..... I've been eyeing up pylons for a while but they often seem to be in inaccessible places, or guarded by fences. This one was just off a car park (in a country park!) no fence, just a warning with electricity and frazzled wire symbols (?!) on it!
@seanoneill - thanks Sean! I think because it was a bright day, and the golden hour, the photo came out well anyway. But yes, Efex Pro was used, I've just been playing with the presets ( as here) but bet you'd be more whizzy dizzy with it.... I am very, very tempted!
@cheribug - it's scary but so daring too..... yes, give it a go! My advice though would be to pick a time when the ground is dry..... long wet grass is not great for lying down in!!
@kwiksilver@pinky_promise@orangecrush - thank you all kind folk for the favs! You wouldn't believe that a granny with a dodgy arthritic hip would be lying around in wet grass for a photo would you now!!
a wonderful perspective. great effort, jackie. because this is one item in the bucket list that shall remain on the bucket list. i'm living vicariously through you. and congrats on PP! yay!
Well executed without being electrocuted.
I have taken many pylon shots and find them fascinating. You are quite safe so long as you don't climb up it!
Wonderful and daring shot Jackie - now come on over here, they are doing things to all our huge pylons which run across the fields and you could probably bat your eyelids at the men in hats who go up and down in sort of platforms on pulleys and get a shot looking down from the top!! LOL!! (and congrats)
Love it. In my hubby's youth he used to paint pylons for a living and somewhere, sadly not in his posession, there is a photo of him doing a head stand on the top of one ..........MADNESS!! he loves this alternative view!!
That is one cool shot. I've never seen it done before, so I'm a super impressed newbie. :-)
Before I began seeing the world through "365 eyes", I always thought these things were quite ugly, but now I see beauty in their symmetry.
Next time I'm close enough to one, I may try this. We usually have easy access to them here in California. Dirt roads run alongside them for the maintenance crews and I don't think there are any No Trespassing signs...but then I wasn't looking for them. LOL
I haven't seen it done so I think you are a Super Star. And yes, I would be worried that I would get arrested.

don't you love Silver Effex?!?! I use it often.

@willowdragon - Thank you Al...... I was surprised and delighted, I have to say!!
