Giving thanks

The Dogwood flower means endurance, for durability through all seasons. These were taken from my sister's tree. Went to spend some time with her today because she was feeling down. The bandages came off of her surgical site and she hasn't been able to look at the area yet. I think people say that they would handle cancer a certain way if they ever got it. I think you quickly find out that it is day to day. You can never guess what you will do until that day. We are all very thankful for the hopeful prognosis after the surgery, but all of the tests aren't in and that weighs heavily on my sister's heart. I know she will make it through. I asked her for some of these flowers before I left. I looked up what they mean in flower language and found the above meaning. It couldn't be more fitting because I know her, even with some hard days along the way, she will endure. For this I am thankful too.
Lovely shot and sentiment Jackie. I pray your sister has a full and speedy recovery. My sister has also been battling cancer since last Sept. and we are hoping for the best for her, as well. Hang in there... Fav on the beautiful photo.

Beautiful and appropriate shot! Your sister will endure no matter the results. My sister had a valiant fight but she always considered herself living each day and not dying from cancer. Your sister is fortunate to have you there.
