Great. I tried but failed miserably with my moon shot. Any tips on getting a good shot? Lens?

@bigugly I actually get the best photos of the moon (and others get far better than me on this project) with my Nikon 70-300. from what I have read you have to use 200mm at least to get a decent shot. this was at f22 focused to infinity 1/100 of a second and iso100 on a tripod and a timer. hope that helps. you can look it up online too! thanks

Oh you got it! I was planning on trying to shoot the Blue Moon, but fell a sleep and then forgot about it.
