so I was trying to start on time but just couldn't do it so here is my week 1 shot for the technique portrait...not my best angle. since I had just done a self portrait not too long ago I decided to try a profile but full profile was not good at all so I turned a bit...still not fabulous - oh well.
may i suggest a full on profile, camera at eye level, with back lighting making sure those beautiful eyelashes are in focus. and, i know it's kind of silly, but try smiling. i never liked the way i register in camera but i found that i can look at my photograph if i am smiling. you'd feel silly when you're doing it (as i still do), but you can get used to it. now, let me go find someone i can trick into posing for me for this week. i would still give this an "aces" rating, you know!
