another inside shot of my ring...a bit out of focus. thought I would tell the story of how I got my ring. when my sister and brother died 6 months apart I was handed the job of her personal representative (i.e. executor of her estate) per her will. It was a surprise and a bit overwhelming as I am more of an artist than a business type. as I got into the work of it, it became pretty overwhelming so soon after the grief and stress that comes from losing two people so close. my children were still fairly young and I decided to take them on a vacation. my husband couldn't go so I went with them alone.I have no idea why I picked Disney World but I guess I thought they would be entertained there. so, off to disney we went. we spent a day in Downtown Disney (I think that is what it is called, lots of stores). there was a kiosk there where a lady took blank ring forms in either silver or gold and using a tiny saw, removed parts of the blank to make letters. it could be your initials or your kids initials. come to think of it my daughter was in college because she had one made with c a heart in the middle t. candace loves tom. little did she know at the time that the relationship wouldn't last. so I decided to have one made for myself. It was $30 as I remember and I asked for a cross. The lady did not speak english very well but she said "like a t?" and I said yes. she had orders ahead of ours so we were instructed to come back in an hour and they would be finished. until I shot this I had never seen this mark inside of the ring. maybe she stamped it in to remember what the order was, I don't know. I was expecting just the cross to be cut out. she included the etching in the middle with the blackening in it to show off the cross. It will be 9 years old this year. I have worn it almost every day since.
Enjoying your photos of an understandably significant piece.

Thanks for sharing the story; it brings a deeper understanding of why this ring is so dear to you. And very interesting that you'd not seen the mark on the back until taking this picture for 365... In a way, it looks like a nail, to me.
