a lot of power is generated by wind and water north of us where I was at on vacation. these giants are interspersed in the farms and orchards and are a sight to see when driving into the area! it also means about 20 minutes to my favorite place on earth!
@hippiechick13 have you seen these? if you haven't you must make it a point to get up there! every time I come upon the farms it is like the first time I saw them! thank you. (I don't know if I was allowed on that road or not but escaped arrest again!)
So familiar. There are hundreds of them in eastern Washington. It's a good location. The joke there is, don't worry if you lose your hat. Just grab the next one that blows by!
@hippiechick13 up near Ludington. on us31. can't miss em! I also climbed to the top of the reservoir/water pumping storage plant up there this trip. that is legal, just grueling in the heat lol!
love the composition. there is a farm not far from here that has several turbines.. not nearly as big as this, but stunning when you pass by. it's on my list, but have never been quite sure how to get the best shot. you've done it for me!
@lisamccloskey the idea was to show them against the trees for a size comparison. those are pretty good sized apple trees. these are massive! there are 56 of them according to the website.
My parents wanted to put one of these windmill on their property and their neighbors sued them. They were afraid of the noise and a blade flying off. Ha. We have thousand of these in California and I have never heard one nor have I heard of a blade flying off. I think they are kind of majestic.
@nicoleterheide@candidzen@kimdavis thank you. I must say the processing is a free lightroom preset that I downloaded a while ago and just installed and I am loving it! I used it on my silverware photos as well!
