We have family visiting over the weekend and I will not have much time for photography. I am posting this shot from Monday when I had an opportunity to photograph a battle between two large bull elk. This is one of my favorite shots that I took during the battle. The guy on the right was the eventual winner and retained his herd of elk cows.
I am so glad you posted this one - you mentioned it earlier and I was so hoping to see it. It is really fantastic - look at that intensity and the stop action of your shot. Unbelievable. Can't imagine how you felt to watch this. Fav!

Thanks to all who have posted comments. I appreciate your kind words. As many of you may have noticed, I really enjoy wildlife photography and this was as good as it gets. I had my camera set perfectly to catch the rapid action. The only drawback was that I had a 1.4 extender on my 500 mm lens and was too close to fully capture both elk in the frame. Thanks again for looking and commenting.
Holy cow...how have I missed your shots up to now! Awesome. Now following. You have one awesome freaking lens to use! (but can you correct your timestamps...it often reads for midnight or 9 pm when it is dark already!)
