Asparagus and new potatoes.
Rob asked me to make a half/half of local cuisine, because our traveling and my forgetting to make photo’s of our meals, today you see the two main ingrediënts of dinner.
@robz Hi Rob, i’m so sorry to give you only the ingrediënts. Last monday in Rome we had a lovely Italian lunch but I totally forgot to start with a photo, the result was an very unappetizing plate that I don’t want to show. These at least are fresh!
@fbailey They are lovely. Traditionally they are eaten here with cooked potatoes, hard boiled eggs and slices of ham, butter and parsley. I made them with saugages, baked new potatoes and garlic sauce and a few glasses of white wine.........gorgeous!
@peadar i’ve been in the UK in late spring but I can’t remember seeing asparagus. Frozen peas I saw in abundance ;) but that was before all the great tv-chefs!
@jacqbb Ah well, now we have green asparagus almost all year in every supermarket... Rather silly, really, we need to re-learn how to live and work with seasonal food.
@jacqbb It's ended up a nice half and half - and that combination does sound as if it would have been delicious!! I'm sorry to have been so late in responding to your image - our girls took us to Sydney for the Mother's Day weekend - so very spoilt! Cheers Rob.
