Cedar Waxwings by the Bayou by jamibann

Cedar Waxwings by the Bayou

Ah, this shot could have been so much better... I rounded a corner in front of my son and spotted a tree full of about 8 or 9 waxwings. I was desperately trying to get the right lens, and set up my shot, when darling son arrived at a great pace and scared them all off! This was all that was left!
I like it. Nice capture

Brilliant capture, Issi. Terrific composition and dof.

Darling sons are so good at that, did we not teach them subtlety??? It's still a great shot though the birds are really well framed by the foliage.

@bkbinthecity @milaniet @dgrynn @cailts @randystreat @sansjuan @mzzhope @anazad511 @Weezilou @hettie @wordsmith @carolyns @ziggy77 @davie @paulaw Thanks everyone - I was going to crop this one down to focus more on the birds, but my daughter encouraged me not to. I think she was right, the foliage adds a bit more interest.

@mtpagano Thanks Michelle.
@tristansmum Thanks Stephanie. I was so chuffed to come across the waxwings, as I haven't yet seen them close enough to capture, and then I had to watch them all disappear except these two who were perched a little high for me - and against the sun. But I did what I could!
