Bottle Brush Buds by jamibann

Bottle Brush Buds

I actually went to get a shot of the full flower of the bottlebrush tree, but then spotted these buds waiting to burst forth! I thought they were more unusual than the full bloom.
Wow and wow again. Fav. So beautiful.

@luvmynynix Indeed! The buds look hard and waxy whilst the actual flower looks soft and featherlike. Interesting!

This is a gorgeous shot! The focus is perfect along with amazing colors. The bloom looks like little balls of string licorice.

Wow what amazing buds....as quirky as the full flower
April 21st, 2014
Love the colour and the clarity, Issi - how do you get the writing on the photo. Is that your funky camera - or is it some sort of software?
April 21st, 2014
@squaresparrow I added the writing on photoshop SS, but you can also do it with Picmonkey. It'seally easy to do!
@paulaw I know, but you were so right - it's exactly what they look like!
@taffy @milaniet @juliedduncan @dgrynn @sansjuan @cathieg @kwind Thanks everyone for the kind comments. It's always satisfying to capture something a little bit unusual. :-)

Gorgeous! At first I didn't even realize it was natural, i though human hands had made it. I like it better that the fullblown bottlebrush flower.
April 22nd, 2014
Beautiful! I don't think I've ever seen a flower like that.
April 22nd, 2014
wow, this looks so unusual. Lovely colour.
April 22nd, 2014
Amazing - it looks like pink spaghetti! Fav!
April 22nd, 2014
Never seen one like this before, usually only see pictures of them when fully in bloom. Fascinating picture.
April 22nd, 2014
Beautiful, fascinating, actually mesmerizing! Like others, I have to say as well that I've not seen the Bottle brush at this stage in the blooming process. Most intriguing! Love the way you composed the image and the framing looks so nice. As you mentioned earlier, sometimes that interior line isn't necessary as the image is powerful enough on its own. Beautiful, and another fav for my collection.
