We went to the cinema last night at La Défense, so I arrived early to get a few shots - there's always something of interest in this area. This is taken looking eastwards towards Paris, and you can just see l'Arche de Triomphe in the far distance. By the way, 'Suite Française' is an excellent film if you haven't seen it.
I'm both struck and fascinated by these oddly alien art forms! It's got to b e an art instillation of some sort! Any information regarding them> (They make me think of Miro!)
@Weezilou Thank you for asking! I was remiss in not researching the background of this piece of art. So, now I have, and in so doing, I found a list of all the artworks in the La Defense Area, so I now have a 'hit list' for each time I go to La Defense. So, this is the design of the Greek artist, Takis, and is called the Takis Pool. There are 49 multi-coloured lights, set at differing heights in the pool of water.
@Weezilou Oh, boy, 'so' appears a little too often in the above text - sorry about that. Need an 'edit' option - couldn't be bothered to delete and retype!
@Weezilou And lastly, there is a Miro at La Défense - but it is surrounded by ugly scaffolding at the moment. I will be posting it sometime in the future though!
Fascinating! I'll take "so multiple times over "Valley Speak" "like, you know..." haha...thanks so much for the information! I hadn't even noticed they were placed in water! Really delightful!
The more I study this image, the more unique features I see, such as the fact that there are a variety of shapes around the lights. Looks so good in b&w.
