In the midst of my Thai photo flurry, I nearly forgot it was St. Andrew's day today! Shame on me. I'm lucky to have some Erica in the garden which closely resembles our Scottish heather, and so I picked a wee bunch and placed it on my tartan skirt for a background. Happy St. Andrew's Day everyone. :-)
Yea! So glad I mentioned it even before I saw your beautiful photo! I love the combination! I trust that is your lovely tartan? What's your clan? The flower? I see "erica" in the tag, but don't know where that fits in...
@Weezilou So Louise ... I should have tagged the tartan, of course. It is Murray tartan, which is my paternal grandmother's maiden name. I can also wear McDuff tartan (my own maiden name) and I can wear Forbes tartan (my married name). Well, not actually my married name, which is Bannerman, but the Bannerman carried the standard for the Forbes clan, which entitles them to wear that tartan! I am spoiled for choice, but naturally tend towards my own side of the family and prefer the tones in the Murray tartans to the McDuffs which are much more vivid and, sometimes a little scary!
@jamibann so interesting reading about all the different tartans you could wear and to see my family tartan mentioned! My grandmother was a Forbes so I can claim that tartan!
I am going to research our Ericas and see if I find a flower similar to this one that you have posted.
@lynne5477 Thanks for your kind comments Lynne - I popped over to visit your 365 page, so I hope you don't mind me following you. You have some great work! :-)
