Astrup Fearnley Museet by jamibann

Astrup Fearnley Museet

Today's Oslo culture-fest was a trip to the National Gallery where I was finally able to see Norwegian artist Edvard Munch's 'Scream' and many other of his paintings. In the afternoon I went down to the waterfront to see the very modern Astrup Fearnley Museum where I saw a completely different exhibition - Murakami by Murakami. I've put an example of this Japanese artist's work on my Odds and Sods album. It was a fun exhibition.

Mhairi moved into her own accommodation in the evening, so that's another box ticked. She's going to be living in a 'collective' - a flat with 8 bedrooms which has been renovated for collective living - the only way young people in Oslo can afford to live, I think! Anyway, not having seen her accommodation before we signed the contract and paid out a fair bit of cash, we were relieved to confirm that it's very nice and more or less how we visualised it. So, she stayed there for that night and I went back to our little AirBnB. Tomorrow I return to Paris, leaving Mhairi and Oslo behind! Onwards and upwards.
Oslo sounds like a very interesting city to visit. Glad that Mhairi's accommodation is what you expected.

Love all the wonderful lines and angles in this image! So happy your daughter is all settled in her 'collective' flat. I'm sure saying goodbye was difficult and you are probably already looking forward to your next visit. :-)

I like this architecture. The lines are so clean.

This one is terrific on black. Glad your daughter is settled in - and mom has gotten to see her place ( does seem to put our mind at ease some to visualize her there) know you'll miss the time you got to spend with her.
