Before cutting the grass on Monday, I spent an hour or so gathering the windfall filbert nuts and shaking the tree to get at the rest. Now, I have a rather large bowl of filberts to crack, open and roast. I'm allergic to them raw, but can eat as many as I like if they're cooked.
There's a worryingly autumnal look to this photo! Summer is coming to an end.
I have never heard of Filbert nuts so just googled and I see they are Hazelnuts... weird that you can't eat them raw but ok cooked.. looks very Autumnal... that means we are getting closer to summer..
