My wee brother! by jamibann

My wee brother!

Hubby and I went up to Braemar yesterday as my dad and wee brother needed assistance with felling a birch tree which was rather precariously positioned in the grounds of dad's house, and he was worrying about it falling and doing some damage. As I pulled into the parking area at dad's, my brother was standing just like this. I made him stay exactly where he was whilst I grabbed the camera and took a couple of shots of him. I'm happy to say that the tree came down without too much difficulty (says she, who was spectating only), and without incident or accident! Dad then treated us all to lunch.

This is the type of thing that dad would have done on his own, back in the day, without needing or asking for anyone's help, but yesterday he took on the role of supervisor, just making sure everything was done correctly and safely. It was fun to watch the team event.
It's a great capture.

He does not look very wee to me, i am around your Dads age I understand how he feels, my youngest lad will call in to the homestead and do all the heavy digging in a couple of hours, that has taking me weeks just thinking about it.

Sounds like something out of a TV drama, "Dad then treated us all to lunch." It's great when all can work together like this. Good shot of the wee fella too. =)

Lovely photo! And very important that trees come down without accident or incident. It's a little sad in our experience but the change of perspective can sometimes add its own charm!

Great candid portrait - curiously, as we were eating dinner on the terrace tonight, I was eyeing up the 15m tall oak tree nearest the house and wondering how I would fell it if ever I had to!

I love this shot of your brother & the way he is looking at you. He looks to be looking at you properly & not just at a camera lens. He stands out nicely against the house wall. Good work for dad, it's great when us older folks can rely on the younger end of the family! Lunch would go down well too!

He looks like the quintessential farmer perched against his stone wall.

nice candid even if he did have to "hold that pose" while you fetched the camera.
