Scottish National Portrait Gallery

Yesterday, I visited the Scottish National Portrait Gallery in Edinburgh for the first time. I was delighted that I took the time to do so, amid the Christmas frenzy. It is a beautiful building with an amazing entrance and some very interesting stained glass windows (some ancient, some contemporary), an old library and of course the portraits, all of which are of, but not necessarily by, Scots. This is a close up of a section of a contemporary stained glass window which was designed to mark the reopening of the Gallery in 2011 after major refurbishment.
nicely done modern glass.

You did a nice job of capturing the subtleties of the stained glass background.

@gijsje I believe it is JR Findlay, the man who donated the building in 1889 for the purposes of housing the National Portrait Gallery.
