Ben Vane

This was the final climb of our 'mini break'. Another steep one, and great fun with bits of scrambling to be done at the top. You can't quite see the summit here - it sits a bit back from the front ridge. It was misty and cold on top, but lovely all the way up.

In the interests of full disclosure, I have to tell you that I took this shot on the way back as I had to stop to 'powder my nose'. As I turned around, I noticed how the sun was highlighting the autumn colours and the leaves of the tree were mimicking the shape of the mountain. A shot had to be taken there and then, regardless of circumstances!
Nice capture, and with an autumn feel

Yes there is a distinct look & feel of autumn now...I think the weather is going to break just at the end of your holiday....just perfect timing! Your climbing wouldn’t have been anywhere near as nice next week.

The gray skies and reddish leaves do give the view a bit of autumn coloring.

The great composition Issi - And I agree the capture with the autumnal leaves definitely adds to it.
