Well the last two days have been a bit of a roller-coaster. Starting off by thinking dad was at death's door and culminating in collecting him from hospital last night. I'm reassured that he's home, and although a bit wobbly seems to be fine. Not so reassured however, that they didn't find what caused his funny turn. So, we'll be keeping a close eye on him this week.
So, needless to say, the camera did not come out yesterday, so here's a shot of me on our recent trip, on top of Carn Mairg with Schiehallion in the background. Photo taken by hubby.
Super high peak shot with a wonderful smile! I'm sure the doctors will keep communication with your father or his carer! They are the experts but you need to keep on their tail!
Well that’s a relief then but a niggling worry still there! Perhaps dad was a bit like me a few months ago having weird vertigo type turns & falling over even in the middle of the road!! It’s frightening but it looked a lot worse than it was...seem to have disappeared thank goodness but probably an age thing.
Super photo of you smiling in your happy place!
@happypat Yes, something definitely caused his fall. He says his leg just buckled on him. Twice - when bringing in the coal! But he also doesn't remember anything about getting taken to hospital. His biggest concern when I picked him up last night was that he'd lost his shoes - he was wearing his slippers! His shoes were in the house, of course. It's all a bit of a worry, and it's not going to get any easier.
@pusspup Yes, you just start to worry less about your kids, and then you get to start worrying about your folks. We have two elderly dads to worry about - one in Ireland and one in Scotland. Not easy.
They worry about us when we are young, we worry about them when they are old. I feel for you. I hope these funny turns don't recur. Glad at least that he is home in a more comfortable place again. Thinking of you and wishing you and yours well. Lovely portrait of you in your natural habitat!
Lovely shot of you on top of the world. Hope your Dad continues to make a speedy recovery. Must have been very worrying. Maybe he had a slight stroke (TIA). Both David and I have had them in the past and made full recoveries.
When my dad would have some of these spotty episodes it was tied into his potassium levels. My poor sister took the brunt of the care since she was the one living near him. I wished I could have been there more for her but I have to say we worried "less" about him when he was at home because he was more comfortable there and that's what he wanted. Thankfully he was able to stay there almost until the end. I admire you for managing all that you do! And wishing your dad well as he recovers at home. Love your smile!!
It's not easy when a parent isn't quite themselves. Nice to hear that your dad is home and that you are close enough to keep an eye on him.
Super picture, it's like you are on top of the world
You look to be on top of the world. You're in a difficult time of your life. Not only is it worrisome when a loved one gets sick, when it's a parent or other elderly relative you try to balance independence with safety and health.
I'm so pleased that you were able to bring your dad home, but of course that doesn't stop the worries. At least you're close enough to keep an eye on him. Do hope he soon picks up now that he's home.
What a marvelous shot of you! And in such a beautiful setting. Know these last few days have been quite upsetting - and then not having a reason keeps you nervous. Thinking of you
