View from the Bridge

Hubby and I took a wee walk down to the bridge over the river Dee, in our village, to take some air and allow him to look for salmon swimming up river. It was such a beautiful day, as you can see, and the autumn colours were splendid. We saw several fish swimming upstream (hubby's an expert fish spotter ...) and then also got to see two guys canoeing downstream. Not something you see often, as the river is not particularly easy to navigate. They told us they were trying to get from Braemar to Aberdeen - 60 miles. They'd done 17 by the time they reached this bridge. I hope they made it!
A 'wee' walk doesn't sound like it would happen in this wonderful area! I'm happy to see this - unique!

Wonderful to enjoy such inspiring beauty close by - the canoeist must have been experienced to navigate the waters... but 60miles? Wow!

Nice photo story. I, too, hope they made it before nightfall. I have no idea how much distance a kayak can cover in a certain length of time.

Such a wonderful/colorful place & my eye is drawn to that meandering river & would love to see beyond. A loooong way to go in a canoe.
