Taken on our cycle ride yesterday. Gairnshiel Lodge on the left, a Victorian former hunting lodge, built in 1746, and now owned and run by a Belgian family. The Gairnshiel bridge on the right of the photo is a single-arched rubble-built bridge, originally part of the network of military roads, but now part of the A939 public road. It is due to retire soon though as a new bridge is to be built east of this one, allowing this one to be preserved, as it's no longer suitable for the type and amount of traffic passing over.
Lovely capture in that three roofed lodge…stone built & as strong as it was when built. Looking wonderful on that horizon, cows in the field too….a lovely scene.
