Acoma Sky City is a Pueblo Indian reservation about a one-hour drive from our home in Albuquerque, NM. The original site is atop a tall mesa which you can see in the background here from the Visitor Center. We went on a tour of the mesa-top village, and this week I'll post photos of our experience.
Great shot! I have loved visiting Acoma Pueblo. It is such an amazing place. I have pottery that I love that was made there. Can't wait to see your photos!
This is a lovely statue Jane. I thought, from your previous posts, that photos were banned on Indian reservations. Or is that determined by each reservation?
Thank you so much for commenting on my first photo of my series about Acoma Pueblo. I'm pretty sure this statue is done by the same artist as I featured here: https://365project.org/janeandcharlie/365/2017-07-24
Acoma has received many awards including one in architecture for their Visitor Center, and one for the best Native American tourist experience in North America. Photography is allowed if you purchase a permit, which of course we both did.
