Undaunted by September, sweet, fragrant, purple Alyssum dances ring-around-the-rosie in the old, mossy pot on the front steps. Tiny Spruce, always caught in the middle, seems to enjoy the game; and we enjoy the delightfully playful activity as we come and go throughout the day.
I got to play outside today, too, with my Lensbaby Composer Pro outfitted with the soft focus optic. I wonder who was having more fun. Me or Alyssum?
@cejaanderson Thank you, Jane! This was the first time I had a chance to play with the soft focus optic on the Lensbaby, and it was a bit tricky to use but lots of fun to get to know!
I'm not familiar with Alyssum - sure does look pretty and when I read that it smells good, too, - will have to look into that plant for next year. Like what you've done with the Lensbaby.
@milaniet Thank you, Milanie! Alyssum is one of my favorite plants for pots. It rambles along, spilling slightly over the sides; and its teeny tiny flowers smell glorious!
Darling commentary. Your soft focus lens created such a dreamy feel to this macro image. I took a picture of white alyssum this afternoon but there was a mosquito right in the middle of the picture that I didn't see when I took the picture so that photo went right in the trash. Who wants to see a photo of one of those pesky insects!
@lyndemc Thanks for commenting, Denise! I know what you mean about intruders. I had a bare brown stem intrude on this image. This was originally a horizontal shot, but I cropped it into a vertical to get rid of the unpleasant stem. Like you, I hadn't seen the intruder when I was composing the shot!
@lisamccloskey You're very kind, and I sure do appreciate your support of my project! I hope to be able to use the soft focus optic again soon. It's a bit tricky, but that makes getting an acceptable image from it even more exciting. :-)
