Big memories of little fingers emerge with this Santa lamp each Christmas. It was my job as a little girl to turn the bulb every evening to light up Santa's nose. My fingers are much bigger now, but they feel little every time I reach for that bulb. My husband has repaired the old, brittle wire many times over the years so that the memories and the rosy glow can live on!
I'm filling in today with this photo, which was actually captured in 2013. I chose this one, because this exact same photo could have been captured again today. My treasured Santa lamp sits on this oak table next to this tall lamp in front of this bright window every Christmas!
How wonderful that you still have this precious reminder of happy Christmases from your childhood. I can see and understand why you treasure this lovely lamp.
@jgpittenger In all honesty, I had to look up the definition of kinesthetic memory. Yes, it is amazing! Thank you so much for commenting, Jane! I always appreciate your kindness.
It's been a real joy getting to hear about your many precious family memories and traditions. I can imagine the smile that comes with placing Santa in his special place again each year.
Now, I know Rudolph had a red nose- but what has Santa been doing that caused his?! I hope it's just that he's been out in the cold too long! What a fun memory filled decoration.
