Bicolor Tigertail by janetb

Bicolor Tigertail

There was this sweet son of mine about 16 years old working his first job unloading a delivery truck of shrubs at the local nursery and thinking his garden-loving Mama would just love one of those unusual spruces named Tigertail with its unique two-tone needles all silver blue above and pretty green below. The phone rang. Would I want to come up and take a look? As if anything was going to stop me from going up and bringing home a shrub that made my son think of me! Now, here it is nearly 10 years later; and when I look at the beautiful bicolor Howell’s Dwarf Tigertail Spruce thriving in front of our home, I hear the excitement in his voice and I see his brown eyes sparkle as he led me to Tigertail that day. And my heart melts.

The unique two-tone needles show up best when viewed on the black background.
Gorgeous tones and textures.

Neat close up, good colors and textures, I really like the clarity and details too. Your shrub will still be growing and maturing just like your son.
