Bear Country

Some days are full of all the busy things. Not today, and that’s a very good thing. I need a day to rest my sore back, and having the whole day to process pictures from our recent trip is a treat even though I must shift my weight frequently in an effort to ease the pain. Unhurried, I view my images and see them as the prayers they are.

Yes, the act of making pictures is for me an act of prayer. When I peer into the viewfinder, I accept what He gives, acknowledge His goodness, see the moment as holy, and give thanks to my Heavenly Father — except when I don’t. Do I ever get lost in the plethora of technical choices to be made? I do indeed; but He knew I would, and He loves me still.

Thank you, Father, for the gifts you so graciously give and for loving me even when aperture, composition, shutter speed and the like hijack my thoughts of Your goodness. Thank you that your inclined ear hears the prayers in my heart over the clicks of the rotating command dials and shutter, and may all glory and honor be yours forever and ever. Amen.
