Something's gotten into the Bloomerang® lilac. It's blooming like there's no tomorrow! The buds, shaped like tiny maracas, open to form four-petaled flowers, each emitting a sweet, delicate perfume. I leaned in and inhaled. I've never seen my one and only Bloomerang® produce such a profusion of spring blooms, and the best part is that it reblooms through three seasons. You can bet I'll be watching.
The large, showy Japanese maple overshadowing this lilac tries its best to eliminate competition; and this tucked-in-tight little shrub's determination to make something of itself despite the challenge inspires. So much wisdom in the garden.
