Hunting

I stepped out only to check on my basil. I'd been blaming the slugs all along for its nibbled leaves, but I found the real culprit curled up and trying to hide: a little caterpillar (no longer than an inch and the likes of which I'd never seen before). I began hunting for his friends and family, but the setting sun's magic refused to be ignored; and the first blooms on my Rocket Snapdragon called me out for overlooking their buttery yellow beauty. The decision to leave the caterpillar for the camera came easy. I was (am) on holy ground.

Benches become pews, trees become preachers, and the choir of flowers sings in great joy to the wind’s organ voice.
