Thank you, Lord, for the caterpillar napping on the lemon verbena.
Thanks to this kitchen garden visitor, I learned all about Banded Tussock Moths, including that their caterpillars like to rest on the upper surface of leaves. This one chose a lemon verbena leaf for its nap, and I couldn't be happier about it. I know the caterpillar will be long gone before I harvest the leaves for jelly making, but I'll remember its beautiful presence with each batch of lemon verbena jelly I make for years to come.
