Thank you, Lord, for our annual jammie light ride continuing even now.
Dressed in their Christmas jammies and tucked beneath Christmas afghans their Grammy crocheted (yes, each had their own), they sat in the back seat and sang along with carols playing on the radio. Mike drove for miles as we oohed and aahed over display after display of glowing Christmas lights, and we always ended the ride with ice cream sundaes from the local drive-through.
The kids are grown and off on their own, the Dairy Queen is long gone, and we don't wear jammies — but our annual ride continues. Mike drives, and lucky me — now I ride snuggled beneath a Christmas afghan crocheted by my Mother (yes, she made me one, too)!
This display was one of our favorites from last night's ride.
So lovely! And so wonderful that God gives us memories such as this one to help us remember the Love He gave us and has shown us through the years...and continues to show us as we are able to carry on these traditions, different as they may be.
