Doing a "styled shoot" definitely took me out of my comfort zone because I as-close-to-never-as-one-can-get stage a shot, but this week's assignment ended up being quite fun and a wonderful (and fragrant!) learning experience.
Goal: to do a "styled shoot" with props gathered to convey a story while noticing the direction of the light and "shots within the shot" — oh, and also, while taking time to breathe and to “be in the moment." (I've been thinking a lot about how best to use my time lately, so Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 came to mind as a subject.)
Even though the temperature dropped below freezing last night, I found some still growing thyme out back to add to my story about time. Its time will end soon, so I'm extra thankful I got to enjoy the powerfully perfumed, tiny leaves still clinging to those thin-yet-tough woody stems — an herb version of a workhorse, that thyme.
I learned so much from this shoot, particularly how moving my body revealed perspectives that I found more appealing than what I had set out to shoot. My favorite shots are not at all my original vision!
P.S. Thanks for the comment shared on my little wild dove picture. I got a chuckle from your mention of my tag info about my mom giving me the backdrop cloth. I know she checks all the details on each picture, but I wasn't sure if anyone else did.
@lyndemc Thank you for stopping by, Denise! I've fallen behind with 365 as a result of holiday preparations and the need for a new computer. Now that the new computer is up and running, I still find myself without a lot of extra time as I ready things for Thanksgiving, which I love doing...bring on the holidays! :) I hope you're doing well, and I also hope to catch up with 365 soon!

And of course I had to watch it again myself, and as always, it was deeply moving.
