Thoughtful Gifts by janetb

Thoughtful Gifts

I started knitting another chemo cap yesterday morning while watching big snowflakes outside the window drift gently downward as if in slow motion. Today, I had an hour or so to continue my work; and two thoughtful gifts made it all the more enjoyable. For my 58th birthday, Mike surprised me with the shaker style yarn box. When he ordered it, he didn't know that the woodworker made it from a massive, 116-year-old Silver Maple tree that grew just minutes from my sister's home. My dear friend Penny surprised me with the Christmas tree stitch markers a few years back. We share a love of crocheting and knitting, so she knew these pretty markers would be put to good use. I love remembering the givers whose thoughtful gifts make me smile; and I pray the recipient of this cap smiles, too.

I praise you, Lord, for the givers of these two thoughtful gifts and the opportunity to bring a smile to a local cancer fighter through I Saw a Need, the Pittsburgh Chapter of Crochet for Cancer, Inc.
Love the picture - and enjoyed reading your observations about it. What a wonderful idea.

Gifts that keep on giving are the best kind- given to you in love so you can give a loving gift away. Isn't that so true of the Lord! Beautiful shot and wishing you the happiest of birthdays!
