Plant 3

More for my Urban Decay addiction. This is the remains of what was once a huge employer in our area.

Now the building is empty, vandals have taken everything they could, and the roof has collapsed inside this plant.

Like so many places in our economically-depressed area, this makes me sad.

Such a shame :( Great lines and textures!

Wonderful textures and tones of color here! At least, you saved this much with your shot! It is sad. But this started with NAFTA and CAFTA in South Carolina. There are so many empty old textile mill buildings here. So many jobs went overseas. The last 20 years has seen the largest transfer of American wealth in history and it just keeps getting worse!

I see so many abandoned factories from the train, especially in NJ. Such a waste of land.

Wonderful lines and great echo with the power/telephone lines!

Nice capture of a sad state of affairs with the closing of businesses.

@lyoungs1023 @marlboromaam @gijsje @jillmstruss @catwoman2 @lesphoto @tesnonian @wenbow I'm in trouble! I forgot to tell you that hubby was the one that stopped, as he said, "in the exact right spot" so I could get this shot. Apparently he gets all of the credit!

Very awesome shot! Maybe it's unrealistic, but I wonder why we don't take these places back, rebuild, and go back to making/buying our own products.

@binny I can understand why businesses leave, but to be honest, I think it sucks. Too many consumers shop for a cheap price instead of home made.
